Guests of the village will be treated to refreshments at many locations around the town, but a special treat of the celebration will be the colonial meals served at several local restaurants. All are invited to sample thHdelectible traditional tastes of peanut soup, Cornish game hens, oldstyle salt-cured ham, chicken and dumplings, Sally Lunn bread and cornbread, Welsh rarebit and Brunswick stew.
Another highlight of the celebration will be the live entertainment, also at a number of places about the village. All will be free of charge. From the colonial elegance of the minuet and Baroque and Renaissance chamber music to the festive hornpipes, jigs and reels of peasant dancing, visitors will be treated to a traditional celebration of colonial music and dancing.
The residents and shopkeepers of the village invite all to come and share in the joyous sights and sounds of a traditional colonial Christmas in the first Washington of them all.
