First Baptist’s 114th anniversary
The First Baptist Church of Washington will celebrate the 114th anniversary of the church beginning Friday evening, Oct. 16, at 7:30 with a prayer service featuring a candlelight memorial ceremony. On Sunday, Oct. 18, the regular morning service will be conducted by the pastor Rev. Wendell Grant. Dinner will be served immediately following. The afternoon guests will be Rev. Charles Gee and his congregation from the New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Culpeper. “Please join us in our anniversary celebration,” said Sister M. Nanette Butler who is program chairperson.
Musical at Promise Land
The Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Ministers and Deacons Union Choir will be in concert at Promise Land Baptist Church, Washington, on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. The public is cordially invited.
Friend Day at Gid Brown
Friend Day will be held at Gid Brown Bible Church on Sunday, Oct. 18, beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor John Burke urges everyone to come, bring a friend and enjoy the service.
