It can be said that apples and America have grown up together. The first settlers are credited with bringing apple seeds from Holland. . Governor Endicott of the Massachusetts Bay Colony is given credit for harvesting the first apple grown - from seeds. In 1657, Governor Stuyvesant of New Amsterdam <now New York) was such an apple lover that he brought a grafted apple tree from Holland.
