All Hallow’s Eve
at Crockett Pk.
C.M. Crockett Park has planned to celebrate Halloween with “Pumpkin Cut-Ups” on Saturday, Oct. 24 and a Nature Costume Parade on Saturday, Oct. 31. “Come enjoy the fall fun with a bunch of “cut-ups”, said Gary Kwolek, Assistant Park Manager.
“Pumpkin Cut-Ups” will begin at 5 p.m. with a pumpkin carving competition for children five to 12 years old. Parents please provide your knife for carving. Categories for judging will be Scariest, Funniest and Most Unusual. Information on how to process pumpkins into holiday treats will also be provided. At 6 p.m. there will be a hayride through the scenic landscape of Crockett Park. All activities will take place in the Panorama Shelter.
On Halloween, Crockett Park’s Nature Costume Parade willstart at 5 p.m. at the Waterside Amphitheater. All children ages five to 12 are encouraged to bring their parents to the Park to enjoy the fun on Halloween night. There will also be bobbing for apples and ghost stories around a roaring fire.
Prizes will be awarded for both “Pumpkin Cut-Ups” and the Nature Costume Parade. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge for either of the Halloween programs. However, the usual parking fee of $2 for in-county and $3 for non-county vehicles will be in effect. Registration is not necessary but reservations are needed for both Halloween programs.
