bow. He will likely be out for the remainder of the season. Butler, a ninth grader, has been an up and coming player all season for the Panthers, and Coach Currie said he will be sorely missed. “I had to replace him, but I couldn’t really replace him. He’s good.”
Wakefield will travel to RCHS for the season’s return match on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Nomads fall, 3-1
On Tuesday, Rappahannock traveled to Madison to play the Nomads, a club team which plays its home games at Madison High School. In a repeat of the earlier match, played at RCHS, the Panthers topped the Nomads, 3-1. In their first meeting Rappahannock ended up on top 5-2.
Coach Currie said the game started out tight, ending the first half without a score on either side.
In the second half, Greg Smith knocked in two scores for the Panthers, while Andrew Ball contributed the final tally. A tight defense, led by goalie Phillip Daczewitz, held the Nomads to a single score. • . “We outshot. dominated them” more than the score would indicate, Coach Currie said. The Panthers tpok 29 shots on goal. “The Madison goalie played a good game - we gave him some hard shots and he Was there.”
