Mr. McCarthy stated in the joint meeting between the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission on Sept. 9 that, every time be brought it up it was set aside. Consequently, this leaves many unanswered and disturbing questions in my mind in regards to the recently completed property value assessment and tax increase — an increase that we seem to have literally pulled out of the air.
Now we find that we don’t have enough money in the till to put seats in the gym. This is a prime example of crisis management and I know that we can do better for the citizens of this county. Mr. Henry stated, “The corresponding large tax increases have the county’s residents worried about the future.” Without proper planning and representation they should be frightened - not worried.
The first thing I would like to see accomplished is the development of the Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan in draft format. Then I would like to see the plan circulated,
