Flea Market at Flint Hill
A flea market sponsored by the Flint Hill fire department will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning at 10 a.m. at the fire hall as a fall fund raiser. Donations will be greatly appreciated and the department will be happy to pick up items. For additional information or pick-up call 675-3143. Refreshments will be available during the day and the; Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will have their annual fall festival dinner beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Rappahannock Hunt yard sale
The Rappahannock Hunt will be having their annual fall yard sale on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17 and 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sperryville Emporium. “Come purchase a bargain and support the Hunt,” said an organizer.
Veteran’s rep here Oct. 22
A representative from the Division of War Veteran’s Claims will be in Washington on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Daniel Smith will be at the Social Services Office on Gay Street. He will be available to assist any residents with questions about matters relating to veterans affairs. Mr. Smith added that he will be at the office each month on the fourth Thursday. “I feel that there are many veterans in the area who need assistance, and we would like to reach those individuals,” Mr. Smith said.
Tai Chi Chuan classes
Classes for Tai Chi Chuan will be held at the Middle Street Gallery every Thursday evening beginning Oct. 29. Beginners’ classes will run from 6:30 to 7:30 and Intermediate class will be held from 7:30 to 8:30. The fee is $35 per month.
