Hunter safety course offered
A hunter education course will be offered at the Shadow Lawn Senior Center in Warrenton on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 28 from 1 - 6 p.m. The course, which wil be taught by NRA-certified instructor Clarence Lawson, is required of all first-time hunters and all hunters under 16 years old. Participants should register with the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department (3491910) by Aug. 24. There is no charge for the 10-hour course.

"Barbeque Bonanza” will be Virginia's Lieutenant Governor Doug Wilder and State Senator Danny Bird Jr. The dinner, to be held Sunday, Aug. 28 from 2-6 p.m. at Holly Hill Farm in Culpeper, will benefit, the county Democratic committee.
