Park entry free on anniversary
In celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the National Park Service, to be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 25, the Shenandoah National Park will waive its usual $5 entry fee for the day. Special » programs will also be presented at all the park campgrounds and lodges. Dickey Ridge Visitors Center, located at the fivemile post south of Front Royal, will present a program featuring live birds of prey at 4 p.m., and a slide show on the national park system at 7 p.m. For more information about the event, call park headquarters (999-2243)
