• approved a $10,000 expenditure to be applied toward engineering costs for the water system project. Mayor Morehouse said that the money will qualify the town fcjr $25,000 in matching funds. Of the $10,000, he said, $4,700 has already been spent on engineering, and the remaining $5,300 will be applied toward that purpose as necessary.
• declined a proposal by the Golden Key Performance Company for an extended lease on the Town Hall building, from October 1988 through May 1990. The group requested the space for artistic endeavors, and offered $150 per month in rent, “and they would let us have it when we need it for meetings,” as Mr. Morehouse relayed the written proposal.
• Heard a report that the water usage in town is still 28 percent above average, but down from the 42 percent hike reported in June.
• Held an executive session to “discuss the disposition of public property” and to confer with legal counsel. No action was taken.
