Rappahannock’s Boy Scouts brought home top honors from the Shenandoah Area Council’s summer camp at Camp Rock Enon in Gore, Va.
Troop 123 from Washington bested 16 other troops for the first place award in the combined skills events. The runner-up in the competition was Amissville’s Troop 50.
Each event was timed, and the skills were structured to evaluate the performance of each patrol as a team. Since each Rappahannock troop had only one patrol, versus some troops with as many as six, the contest was quite a challenge for the Rappahannock scouts.
