Amissville Youth and Rappahannock Athletic Association finally got cooperation from the weather and held their annual picnic Sunday, Aug. 14, at the Ruritans Stuart Field in Amissville. The T* ball teams played an exhibition game to the delight of the parents and guests, also giving the coaches of the Bambino League an opportunity to do some advance “scouting”. Mrs. Maybelle Stuart received a live plant in appreciation for the ball fields and her continued support to the youth. (Mrs. Stuart donated the eight acre field known as Stuarts Field to the Ruritans im memory of her late husband, Navy Captain Luther Stuart.)

Mrs. Lorraine Early received a plaque in recognition of her twelve years as the Amissville Youth Treasurer.

The community deeply appreciates the tireless efforts of everyone associated with the teams. Recipients of the special trophies follow.

The “Amissville Blazers” was coached by Randy Parker and Butch Zindel. The most valuable player award was presented to Emma
