Notice the flowers of a garden in September. It is as though all the dust of mid-summer has been thrown off and the cooler nights have worked their magic on the multitude of colors, leaving them fresh and vibrant. The Rappahannock County Garden Club had the opportunity to see a most beautiful garden in its September garb when they toured Oatlands, a Historic Trust Property, west of Leesburg.
The ladies were joined by Alfredo Siani, the enthusiastic horticulturist, who gave a comprehensive three-hour tour of the garden which had been laid out in 1803 by the original owner of Oatlands, George Carter.
