Gladys Grubb

Gladys Mae Settle Grubb, 65, of Middletown died Oct. 9 at her home.

Mrs. Grubb was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Eastham Settle. She was coowner of Grubb’s Candies in Martinsburg, W.Va., and past manager of the Apple House in Front Royal. She was a member of the Middletown Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Chester Gap Baptist 1 Church.

Surviving are her husband, Richard E. Grubb; two daughters, Mildred Jenkins and Judy Stokes, both of Front Royal; one son, Charles L. Woodward, Shenandoah Shores; two sisters, Goldie Smoot, Strasburg and Marie Oliver, Front Royal; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Oct. 12 at the Chester Gap Baptist Church with the Rev. James Burke officiating. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
