§ 4. Sale of game fish or catfish prohibited.

Amend this section to also prohibit taking freshwater molluscs or mussels for sale.

§ 5. Permit required for importation, etc., of certain species.

Amend this section to add the nonnative bait minnow rudd (genus Scardinius) and the nonnative pond fish tilapia (genus Tiiapia) to the list of fish for which a permit must be obtained from the department prior to importation.

§ 6. Permit required to stock fish into departmentowned or department-controlled impoundment.

Amend this section to require a permit to stock any species of fish, other than trout, in any public waters of the commonwealth. This amendment does not restrict the use of native species of fish in privatelyowned ponds and lakes.

§ 10 Department-owned or controlled lakes, ponds or streams--General regulations.

Amend subsection B to clarify the intent of the board that the only means of taking fish permitted at the department's public fishing lakes and ponds is fishing with one or more attended poles with hook and line attached; and add a new subsection designated F to prohibit fishing tournaments, rodeos, etc., for which prizes are offered on department-owned waters.

Trout Fishing. § 1. Season-General open season.

Amend this section to read as follows;

Except as otherwise specifically provided in the sections appearing in this regulation, the open season for taking trout shall be from 9a.m. tne third Saturday in March through February t, both dates inclusive. Except for the first day. angling during the season in designated stocked trout waters shall be permitted from 5a m. until one hour after sunset.

VR 325-03-5. Minnows, Hellgrammites

and Crayfish. § 1. Taking minnows for sale.

Amend subsection B to read as follows:

B. Perrnit required.--It shall be unlawful to take minnows for sale from the public inland waters without having a permit therefor as provided for in subdivision 3 of subsection A of § 29.1-416 of the Code of Virginia.
