Chris Stringfellow replaced Daczewitz in the goal during the second half, “and he did very well,” Coach Dietz said.

“In fact,” he said, “the whole team has been coming along. They are playing soccer as a unit — and that’s what we’ve been working on since Aug. 19. That’s what we’ve been striving for, and I’ve been very well pleased.”

He gave a lot of the credit to the Panther supporters, who not only have cheered the team at home but have also followed the team on its road trips. “I really want to thank our supporters. It means a lot to the kids to look around and see some friendly faces — especially in strange surroundings!”

Coach Dietz said that he expects the team to continue its record-setting season against Randolph-Macon Academy on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at RCHS, and on Friday, Oct. 14, against Seton of Manassas at Manassas. “1 don’t like to make predictions,” Coach Dietz said, “but we’ll be there — and they will know it!”
