Here, it is the opposite. Teachers at RCHS stay in the same room and the students travel.
Andrea Siqueira is from Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, the largest country in South America. She said she chose to visit America for two reasons: because she wanted to learn the English language better and she also didn’t know what to expect.
So far, she likes America. Andrea said that the people are kind and helpful.
Andrea would like to visit New York City, go to see an American football game and relax on a beach. But most of all, she said, she would like to see some snow!
Cecilia Stockman, from Sweden, had a very clear first impression of her American high school. “Gosh, this school is small,” she thought. “But,” she added, “at least I won’t get lost.”
Cecilia said she decided to become an exchange student to the United States because she loves to travel and considers herself a very curious person.
Once she considered the idea of traveling abroad for a year, Cecilia said, she was hooked. “When I started to get interested, I just couldn’t forget it. So I worked in the summer of ’87, on holidays and the summer of ’88. Finally I had enough money to come here.”
Cecilia wants to do everything that she can while she is here. Her favorite food? “Pizza!”
