century the small portrait was used as we use photographs on legal documents. Some well-known artists painted miniatures. Among them were Rembrandt, Fragonard and Dali.
Ms. Hoffman’s miniatures are done in oil and handframed in a natural wood finish. She paints miniatures from pictures and encourages those coming to her showing to bring pictures they would like painted. She will be taking a limited number of special orders for Christmas gifts.
Ms. Hoffman will be at The Foster-Harris House on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 1-5 p.m. For more information call Camille Harris at 675-3757.
