Mrs. Stamer said that she has contacted several other recycling companies about participating in the monthly recycling day, but has gotten no takers. Apparently, she explained, the prices being paid for reeyclables right now is low, and no one is willing to travel to Rappahannock, since the distance involved eats into their already meager profits.
Mrs. Stamer has, however, come up with several suggestions. She reminds residents that the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department has a trailer behind its fire hall on Route 211 where newspapers can be deposited. The fire department sells the newspapers and puts the proceeds toward its operating expenses.

She has contacted Culpeper County and received permission for Rappahannock residents to visit its county landfill to drop off reeyclables. The landfill, located off Route 522 on Route 638 between Salem and Culpeper, is
