Mr. Fisher reported that he has structured several rate increases which will attain the necessary $17 per month average water bill. That is the estimated amount the town will require to service the $27,000 annual debt on the Farmers Home Administration loan
The Water Authority chief told the council that !khis figures would start with a $10 base rate, with the first step increase to come after 3.000 gallons of usage. From 3-5,000 gallons, customers would pay 25 cents for each 100 gallons.
At 5,000 gallons, the step increases to 30 cents for each 100 gallons used. That step reaches to 10.000 gallons per month. Above that usage, the step increases to 35 cents per 100 gallons.
“Basically,” Mr. Fisher told the council, “the more you use, the more you pay.”
