Water project
moves ahead
Washington’s Treasurer Brad Fisher told the Town Council last Wednesday that he and Mayor Dean Morehouse returned from a state grant workshop with an application — and a lot of work to do in the next 60 days.
Holding up the inch-thick Community Development Block Grant application forms and its accompanying instructions, Mr. Fisher said the council must hold two public hearings on the project and return the completed application by March 10. The council agreed that it will hold one hearing at each of its next two meetings, on Feb. Band March 8.
In addition, he said, the application requiresthat Washington include a concept of the project in the grant proposal, which must be-wajy specific as to goals and methods. AncWtse application also requires a “confidential survey” of all town residents, including $t$ir household income, number of persons in the household, and whether the house has water, sewer and bathroom facilities.
