As the board members voted unanimously to forward the capital expansion contingency plan to the local planning commission, Wakefield District representative Paul Nichols suggested that they watch for property coming on the market. “We owned the high school site for a number of years before the building was ever constructed,” he reported, recalling that the property was purchased in the mid-1940s while RCHS wasn’t built until 1959. “It might be a good idea to keep our eyes open. ”
