Douglas Smoot

Douglas Wayne Smoot, 38, of Fairfax, died Jan. 14 at Fair Oaks Hospital, Fairfax.

Mr. Smoot was a native of Culpeper and had lived in Fairfax for many years.

He is survived by his mother Mrs. Ethel Hawkins, Manassas; seven brothers, Charles Smoot, Brandy Station, Curtis Smoot, Rixeyville, Thomas Smoot, Castleton, Arthur Smoot, Culpeper, Ronald Smoot, Todd Smoot and Garrison Hawkins, all of Manasass; five sisters, Barbara Jenkins, Fairfax, Jane Nicholson and Brenda Boxely, both of Culpeper, Betty Gentry, Rixeyville and Fonda Hawkins, Manassas; and his grandmothers, Ressie Mae Kennedy, Berry ville and Lelia Smoot, Culpeper.

A funeral service was held at the Clore Funeral Home Chapel Jan. 17 with Rev. Kenneth Huneycutt officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memory Gardens Cemetery, Jeffersonton. S Active pallbearers were Charles E. Smoot, Everett Smoot, Ray Smoot, Kenneth Smoot, Robert Gentry and John Jasper. \
