EMT Basic and Refresher: Beginning Jan. 9, Monday and Wednesday nights from 7-10 p.m. at Marshall Volunteer Rescue Squad building. Paul Fries will teach the class.
• Shock/Trauma Technician: Beginning Jan. 16, Mondays and Thursdays from 7-10 p.m. Location and instructors to be announced. Current EMT certification, recommendation of captain or chief, pretest and pre-registration are required.
• First Responder: Beginning Jan. 23, Monday and Thursday nights from 7-10 p.m. at Brandy Station VFD. Leilani ■ Stanley will be the instructor.

The fire and rescue departments are also seeking interested residents who are willing to donate some of their time and energy to help their neighbors.
Although people willing to run fire and rescue calls are certainly needed and welcomed, most of the fire departments and rescue squads would also appreciate offers of assistance from people willing to help with fund-raising and the various administrative duties which are also a necessary part of the departments’ functions.

president of the county’s fire and rescue association, can provide the names of department and squad officers in each community. They can be contacted for more information about membership.
