the day off, and my husband and I were going to plan a day of remembrance with the children that I was asked to participate in, but the children said they wanted to get perfect attendance for the year and chose to go to school.
The told us later that several of their teachers did have a lesson on this great statesman, but I wonder if every teacher in the county were asked to take a few brief moments and dwell upon an aspect of his life.
I would like to see in the not too distant future the schools in Rappahannock County take part with the other surrounding counties and declare a day off for the blacks and whites of this fair county in honor of Dr. King.
