Meals that are exciting and delicious, but low in calories, fat and cholesterol — that’s what “The Culinary Hearts Kitchen Course” is all about. Developed by the American Heart Assoication, the course is soon to be offered in Rappahannock County by the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service.
The six-week course will cover basic principles of nutrition, food selection and preparation, way to modify your favorite recipes, menu planning at home and when you dine out, and entertaining. Participants will see recipe demonstrations and be able to taste a variety of dishes.
The classes will be held from 10 a.m. to noon or 7-9 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and continuing through March 28. The registration fee is $10 per student. For more information or to register for either class, call Sandra Richardson at 6753619.
