Rappahannock remains tied with Central on top of the Bull Run District with a 5-1 record, 6-1 overall. Central’s record is 6-1 in district play, but the Falcons’ only loss came at the hands of the Panthers. The Panthers are the fourth most productive team in the area, averaging over 62 points a game, and are the third best defensively.
The Panthers are ranked eighth in the state by the AP in its firsl Group A poll. RCHS received 3c votes to finish right behind Central, ranked seventh state-wide with 3£ points.
The Rappahannock’s jayvees posted a 48-37 win earlier in the evening. The Junior Panthers probably connected on only a quarter of theii shots but pulled in an impressive 6C rebounds. Paul Hitt was high scorer with 18, and Dearl Cloud was tops on the boards with 12 rebounds.
After a week’s vacation, the Panthers travel to Berryville this Friday, Jan. 20 to meet district foe Clarke County.
