Dr. David Gangel, the county’s superintendent of schools, was also rehired by the board, which offered him a four-year contract. The vision and administrative skill which Dr. Gangel has brought to the county’s school system has been commended in this space before. The “Superintendent’s Super Stars” program is just the latest example of his ability. The board has obviously recognized it too. We’re glad he will be in Rappahannock County for some time to come.
All of these developments indicate that the county’s school board and its school administrators are firmly committed to offering our students an education which will enable them not just to compete, but to excel, in their chosen careers. For that, we commend the board.
