If the problems have no physical cause, they are probaWy the result of stress. Usually, this is the result of a lot of little things that have built up over time. Stress-based problems don’t crop up overnight, although the individual may find something specific which he thinks has caused it — the proverbial “straw that broke the camel's back.”
The person may feel overextended or overwhelmed because his life is out of balance. This balance is between job, family, personal and spiritual time. All too often the individual’s time and energy is centered around just one of these things and their life is out of balance.
For example, it is common for men to center their lives around their jobs, ignoring other important dimensions in their lives. When there is no balance, a lot of energy is going out with little or none coming in.
