There is no one “right" exercise, or exercise program, for everyone. Whether it’s swimming, cycling, hiking, running or brisk walks, the most important factor, experts say, is to choose an activity you like. That way you’ll look forward to the exercise, and it seems more like fun instead of a “workout.”
There's one caution for would-be exercisers, however. Anyone who is overweight or who has not exercised for some time should consult a doctor before beginning an exercise regimen. And, of course, anyone who is under a doctor’s care should ask him about the advisability of a particular exercise program. He may agree or, if not, suggest an alternate plan.
Doctors and fitness professionals agree that almost anyone can participate in some type of exercise. And for almost everyone, that means benefits which will last a lifetime.
