One issue the Governor declined to address! was the actual removal of the sales tax from non-! prescription drugs and medicines. Republican; Delegate Peter Giesen will be introducing it on: the House side. Perhaps Lt. Governor Wilder can lend his support to this bill since the Governor’s plan falls far short of this goal.
While it has always been my belief that his is a regressive tax and impacts upon those in the lower income brackets and the elderly who might be retired on low incomes, I also realize the difficulties that could occur at the point of sale in determining what products are taxable and which are not.
