Food drive needs help
The county's Department of Social Services is conducting its annual holiday food drive for Rappahannock's lessfortunate residents. According to Marie Davis, so far the drive is behind its goal compared to the last several years. Without sufficient contributions of non-perishable food and cash donations, the department will be forced to curtail the number of holiday food baskets distributed. The department plans to finish the drive on Dec. 18, so residents are urged to get donations to the office on Gay St. in Washington as soon as possible.
