Spaghetti dinner Dec. 14

The Rappahannock County Elementary School will hold its annual spaghetti dinner, 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14. Cost is $6 adults, all you can eat; $5 adults, single serving; $3 children under 10. Following the dinner will be the RCES winter music program, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the seventh grade’s trip to Williamsburg. For more information, contact Arthur Neufeld at 987-8259, days; or 675-3728, evenings.

Library closings

The library will be closed the week of Dec. 24. It will reopen Jan. 2, 1990, for regular hours. Persons wishing to return books during the holidays may leave them in the brown mailbox facing the driveway beside the building.

Sheep Assn, annual dinner

The Piedmont Sheep Producers Assn, is having its Annual Christmas dinner and election, 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at the War Memorial Building on Main Street in Madison. Zen meetings this month

Animal League to meet

The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will meet, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Washington Fire Hall. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.

New Year's in Washington

A New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball will be held at the Washington Fire Hall, 8 p.m.-l a.m., Dec. 31. Music will be provided by the Crazy Eights, Rappahannock’s Premier rock-and-roll band. Food and refreshments will be available. Admission is $7.

History-drama project

Teachers, parents and students of all ages are invited to a rescheduled meeting, 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the Rappahannock County High School library, to share grandparent stories for “The Ties That Bind,” an oral history-drama project. Artist-in-residence Catherine Kiley will update interested participants about the project
