Judith Kay Atkins and Joel Lee Cress were united in marriage Sept. 9, in the Culpeper Assembly of God Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer S. Atkins of Sperryville. The groom is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Lonnie P. Cress of Warrenton.
The couple were united in marriage by the groom’s father Rev. Lonnie P. Cress, assisted by the bride’s pastor, Rev. Ray Campbell.
Traditional wedding music was provided by Edmund Tedeschi. Roberta Kelly, sister of the bride, sang “Whither Thou Goest,” “We Are Standing on Holy Ground” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long, white taffeta gown with an overlaid lace bodice.
The bride carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations, baby’s breath, cornflowers and ivy.
Beverly J. Conners, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a royal-blue satin, tea-length dress with overlaid lace.
