Mr. Haltler also pressed ior an amendment to the ordinance which would require the submission of a mass model, a scale reproduction of the existing structure plus the proposed project, for any major addition or new construction.
"I don’t see how you can,” Mr. O’Connell agreed.
“It would be a real hardship for some people,” Mrs. Kevis added.
“It might not be appropriate for most projects in Washington,” Mrs. Willis said, “but it is appropriate for some projects.” She suggested that the board might amend the ordinance to reserve the right to require a mass model if the ARB feels it is needed for a specific project.
Mr. Haffler also suggested that each applicant submit 10 copies of all architectural drawings.
Again noting the cost of reproducing architectural drawings, the board finally set seven as a reasonable requirement for applicants to meet.
