Charles C. Lewis
Charles Carey Lewis, 87, of Sperryville, died Dec. 6, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired farmer and a deacon at Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas C. Lewis of Sperryville and James T. Lewis and Charles B. Lewis, both of Washington, D.C.; five daughters, Virginia G. Lewis and Harriet E. Lewis, both of Washington, D.C., Mae E. Proctor of Lanham, Md., Betsy A. Myles of Landover, Md., and Anna L. Allsberry of Flint Hill; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Logan of Sperryville; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral serivces were at Hopewell Baptist Church, Sperryville, Dec. 11. The Rev. U.S. Brokenburr of Washington, D.C., officiated. Interment was in the* family section of the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sperryville Rescue Squad or Hopewell Baptist Church, Sperryville.
W.C. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
