"ANTICIPATION." "EXPECTATION.” "HOPE." Such cheerful words! Yet our lives are filled with thwarted 'expectations', unfulfilled 'anticipations' and dashed 'hopes'. We know the feeling of a future "good" that was deficient and did not afford us the happiness we desired and expected. Perhaps some of us have become pessimistic, even cynical, because our wishes were not granted.
