(10) After removal from the house, the tree can be planted immediately. Soak soil around the root ball thoroughly. Loosen the burlap from around the trunk, but do not remove burlap from the ball; it will decompose naturally in the soil and roots may be damaged in removal. Any twine surrounding the trunk should be cut.
If the ground is frozen, keep the tree in cool, shady area until the ground is thawed. If this period becomes lengthy, the plant may need ~ water (weekly) throua/nout the winter.
