So far, the county has recorded more than one foot of snow, according to Emergency Services Coordinator Col. Dieter Knuepfer, who records weather observations at his home near Massies Corner.
Col. Knuepfer reported about three inches of snow Nov. 22, another five inches on Dec. 8, an additional one inch on Dec. 9, two and a half on Dec. 11 and another three and a half on top of that Dec. 12.
Though the county has been innundated with more snow so far this winter than fell over the past two seasons combined, the Virginia Department of Transportation reports no problems keeping the roads open.
