Craft guilty

of sex abuse

William Oakley Craft, 52, of Route 1, Castleton, was convicted by a Rappahannock County Circuit Court jury of rape and another related sex charge.

The charges alleged that Craft had sexual relations with a female juvenile on numerous occasions between July 1986 and April 1988.

The jury sentenced Craft to 10 years in prison on each of the two charges. He remains free on a personal recognizance bond until his next court appearance on Dec. 19.

Editor’s note: The specific nature of the second charge against Mr. Craft has been withheld to protect the identity of his victim, who is a juvenile.
