The Rappahannock Water and Sewer Authority was unable to hold its regular monthly meeting last Thursday for lack of a quorum. Members Carson Johnson and Martin Woodard were the only ones present.
The Authority, which oversees the operation of Sperryville’s sewage collection and treatment system, needs to get some business conducted soon. The contract with Rosebud Septic Service, which had pumped the septic tanks in Sperryville, expired when the last of the tanks were pumped last December, thus completing its three-year contract.
Members of the Authority have expressed interest in finding a less expensive way to get the tanks pumped. They have discussed finding another firm or even in acquiring a pumper truck and having Tim Falls, the plant operator, do the pumping.
