For residents struggling with last minute computations on their state income tax forms, Commissioner of the Revenue Beverly Atkins is offering assistance. Mrs. Atkins and her staff will be available to answer questions about state income taxes at the office, which will be open from 8a.m. until 5 p.m. each weekday through May 1, when state tax forms must be filed. Some questions may be answered by telephone, Ms. Atkins added, and residents may also call her office, (703) 675-3513, for assistance. Student poetry reading
The final meeting of the discussion series, “Modern American Poets: Their Voices and Visions," will focus on the poetry of students from Rappahannock County High School and Wakefield School. The series, which is led by RCHS English teacher Jon Heddleston, will meet on Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The series, a follow-up to the acclaimed series last year, is jointly sponsored by the Rappahannock County Library and the high school.
