Is there a favorite old time recipe your grandmother or mother used to make?
“The Ties that Bind” project invites the public to bring an old-fashioned dessert for selling at intermission for the May 5 and 6th performances to be held at Rappahannock High School.
Proceeds will go towards making a book of the material gathered for the play and to support the high school’s drama department.
Call Pat Lawler at 675-3405 if you’d like to contribute a traditional dessert from your family.

School children from kindergarten to sixth grade in Rappahannock, Culpeper, Madison and Orange Counties are invited to enter an art poster contest to be held by the Piedmont Board of Realtors, according to Piedmont Board President, Kevin Day.
The contest theme is ‘Making Dreams Come True’. Prizes will be awarded at two grade level classifications: K-3 and 4-6. First prize winners will receive $100.00 Savings Bonds and second place winners will receive $50.00 Savings Bonds. “We hope that the prize winners will reserve their bonds for further education,” said Mr. Day.
In addition, each child who enters will have his or her efforts acknowledged with a Certificate of Participation. Entries must be received by Friday, April 26 and winners will be announced Tuesday, May 1.
