At a special meeting Tuesday night of the Washington Town Council the proposed water rate increases were amended and rates will be raised on only those who use in excess of 10,000 gallons. The increase on this will be 20 cents for each 100 gallons. No other rates will be changed on water usage.

Society will meet tonight, Thursday, April 17, to plan a Civil War battle reenactment tentatively set for Memorial Day weekend at James W. Fletcher’s farm on Route 522 between Sperry viUe and Wood-, ville. Volunteers are urgently needed to organize the reenactment.

Starting time for the annual Fodderstack 10KM Classic will be 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, April 20. About 150 runners have pre-registered. “That’s as many as we’ve ever had by this time,” said former race chairman Diane Bruce.
