Worldwide concern for planet Earth has come to the forefront of world news. Addressing several of the issues prevalent in 1970 and still around in 1990, educating nations on environmental issues of this decade and providing materials for the next decade, Earth Day 1990 is asking the world to “think globally - act locally.”

In Rappahannock County an Earth Day celebration is planned for April 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Park on Rt. 211, west, as part of a international movement.

“This is something the whole world is concerned with,” Nina Stamer said, Rappahannock County Litter and Recycling Coordinator ; and coordinator of this year’s county ' celebration, said.
