Earth Day 1990: a celebration of, renewed resolve to take better care of our fragile earth. We’ve become all too aware of the many and assorted ravages our planet has endured in the past century. The time has come to work toward solutions to heal our globe — and the password is “Think Globally, Act Locally.”
This problem seems immense hnd complex, and is. There are as many solutions as problems. Each one of us can make personnel changes that will become a united Wave of ecologically sound actions wid attitudes. This threefold approach can be adapted to your lifestyle.
; Consumption: the overabundance of material wealth in our country is almost proportional to our environmental waste. Our lifestyles are filled with excessive consumption — mainly because of convenience. Driving down the block is quicker than walking; prepackaged foods are easier than fresh foods; disposable diapers are less work than cloth ones; plastic foam plates are cheaper than paper ones.
