Roy shook hands with each one and collected team pictures, posters and a Cavaliers T-shirt. The players took turns autographing his poster as their teammates talked with Roy about the NCAA tournament and the season just ended.
“Who do you think will replace Coach Holland?” Roy asked, not knowing that Jones would be named this week. “We don’t know,” the players laughed, “but we hope they name somebody soon!”
“Roy is a great basketball fan,” Coach Leake explained when asked how the visit came abeut- He is a regular booster at the Panthers basketball games, and talks basketball frequently with Coach Leake. “He really likes the Cavaliers,” the coach added, which gave him the idea to approach the U.Va. basketball program about a visit with their young fan.
