THE PLAINS — Country Artisan Homes, a new builder of post and beam construction homes, adds new meaning to the term “spacious country living.”
The company’s first project, the two bedroom home of firm partner Jim Fay, is indeed spacious, open and expansive.
Cathedral ceilings, lots of large windows and the exposed beam construction create a breath-taking enterior environment.
The natural stained beams, floors and ceilings, and the two-story stone fireplace chimney add a natural feel to the home.
“We like the openness of the house, the feeling of bringing the outside inside,” Fay said.
Fay, a program manager for the Bell System, liked the house so much that he decided to start a company to market Timberpeg homes in Fauquier, Rappahannock, Culpeper and surrounding counties.
He, along with stepson Carey Bettis, founded Country Artisan Homes, the local independent representative for Timberpeg, a company that designs post and beam homes.
