Colonial Christmas dinner

The Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will be serving a Colonial Christmas dinner of cornish hens, green beans with almonds, wild race pilaf, sunshine carrots with ginger sauce, pumpkin pie with whip creme, homemade roll with butter, tea and coffe. Dinner will be served from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the fire hall. Cost is adults $10 and children 12 and under $5.

Support group to meet

The Blue Ridge Head Injury Support Group will have their meeting and Christmas party at the home of Chris and Hat Salmon in Flint Hill from 2 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. For directions or more information call Hat Salmon at 675-3137 after 6:30 p.m.

Hook & Crook & Kramer party

Hook (Charlie Tompkins), ('rook (Frank Reynolds) and Kramer (Heter Kramer) are hosting an informal chili supper party to benefit RAAC (Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community) on its 10th anniversary in Heter Kramer’s building on Gay St. in Washington from 5-10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4. Donations of $10 are requested and food and libations are provided.

Dance at Amissville

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor u dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the fire hall on Saturday, Dec. 12. The band Heavy Dreamer will perform. For more information or reservations call Sheila Scott at 937-4367.

Breakfast with Santa

The Castleton Volunteer Fire and Rescue will sponsor a breakfast with Santa from 8a.m.-12 noon on Sunday, Dec. 13. The breakfast will be all you can eat and will include bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, gravy and biscuits. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 children, under three free. Santa will have goodies for the children.

CGVFD selling trees

The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Deparmtent will be selling locally grown white pine Christmas trees at U.S. 522 and Cariser Road. Cost is $18 for any size and they will be selling them until Christmas Eve. For directions or further information call 636-7273.
