Brown rice

vs. The Inn

I was loitering on a Washington street on a recent Monday and a local started telling of an experience he and his wife had at the Inn the preceeding evening.

His recitation was so enthusiastic and so precise that, unknown to him, I turned on the recorder.

What surprised me about his unusual recitation was that I knew he and his wife as natural food eaters. I had been to his house for dinner and to them an exciting meal seemed to be unsalted brown rice and kale, no meat.

I went to Pritikin once and the reason I lost weight so fast was from being served a lot of unsalted brown rice. For me it was inedible. Now here he was waxing prolific about exotic food.

“We had a house guest last week and as a gift he took us to the Inn for dinner.

“It was incredible, It was like, you’re walking down this, uh, this labrynth, and your senses are experiencing pleasant new tastes and you come around a corner, and you are suddenly shocked by a great new taste. There is always a contrast, I couldn’t believe it.

“My appetizer was a salmon, a grilled salmon, and the sauce was, uh, this, uh, lemon, this uh, I think, uh, this lemon
